Allergy

NRL offers an extensive allergy test menu that includes more than 200 individual allergens, custom allergen panels, regional geographic panels, and age specific panels. The laboratory’s advanced technology allows testing for multiple allergens on a single specimen.

Anatomic Pathology

National Reference Laboratory offers advanced comprehensive tumor tissue analysis for neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders including a vast test menu of immunohistochemistry (IHC), cancer cytogenetics and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) through LabCorp’s Dianon Pathology and Integrated Oncology.  
National Reference Laboratory’s partnership with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi enables the Laboratory to offer the expertise of experienced pathologists in many Anatomic Pathology sub-specialties with access to many more sub-specialties through Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s e-Pathology system.

Cardiovascular Disease

National Reference Laboratory’s cardiovascular menu includes routine cholesterol tests, expanded lipid profiles, metabolic syndrome profiles and tests to assess risk for thrombosis or stroke. The Laboratory also offers complete testing for monitoring disease progression and response to therapy through its partner, LabCorp.

Coagulation

National Reference Laboratory offers an extensive menu of tests for hemostasis and thrombosis, including bleeding profiles and screening tests, profiles for reproductive health, factor analysis, thrombin generation markers, and thrombotic risk evaluation. Advanced methods and access to scientific expertise are available through LabCorp’s network of specialist laboratories.

Dermatology

National Reference Laboratory offers expertise in dermatopathology through Dianon Pathology, including complete direct immunofluorescence (using Michel’s Media) and immunohistochemical staining. In addition, Integrated Oncology offers BRAF mutation testing (PCR based) that can assist in diagnosis on small tissue samples.

Endocrinology

National Reference Laboratory offers a comprehensive and specialized endocrinology portfolio with many specialized assays employing mass spectrometry and other advanced methods through LabCorp and its specialty testing Endocrine Sciences Laboratory.

Gastroenterology

National Reference Laboratory offers advanced testing, such as noninvasive tests for hepatitis and colorectal cancer screening, in addition to more advanced GI pathology through LabCorp’s Dianon Pathology service.

Genetics

National Reference Laboratory, through its partner LabCorp, offers an extensive genetics menu including prenatal, ethnicity carrier screening, cytogenetics, preimplantation genetics and pharmacogenetics as well as genetic counseling services. In addition, NRL offers reproductive donor screening and testing through ViroMed Laboratories. The latest technologies include next generation sequencing and conventional PCR.

Hematology

National Reference Laboratory, through its partner LabCorp, offers a large hematology menu including tests for benign hematological conditions and neoplastic hematologic disorders including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, lymphoproliferative and myeloproliferative disorders.

Infectious Diseases

National Reference Laboratory’s advanced tests for infectious disease include real-time PCR methodology and advanced HIV assays. The Laboratory offers an extensive HIV menu that includes serology and molecular tests for screening and diagnosis, genotyping and phenotyping for therapy decisions, and viral load testing for patient monitoring. The test menu for molecular diagnostics continues to expand in order to accommodate the ever-growing demand.

Medical Drug Monitoring

National Reference Laboratory, through LabCorp and its specialty testing laboratory MedTox, offers a full menu of medical drug monitoring tests that (combined with their report solutions), provides unparalleled choice, flexibility, and clinical value for your specific monitoring needs.

Microbiology

National Reference Laboratory offers advanced techniques using the latest Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) compatible technologies for identification and antimicrobial susceptibility of infectious disease agents. The Department of Clinical Microbiology delivers a full range of microbiological investigations including routine bacterial culture, antibiotic sensitivities, mycology and mycobacterial cultures, serological and environmental testing.

Obstetrics/Gynecology

National Reference Laboratory offers a comprehensive menu of women’s health testing options to include liquid-based Pap testing with image-guided cervical cytology for improved cervical cancer detection, as well as out-of-the-vial Pap testing with options for HPV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. In addition, the Laboratory offers NuSwab, a new diagnostic approach for female testing. The menu also offers tests for reproductive health including maternal serum screening, ethnicity carrier screening, and causes of infertility and miscarriage.

Oncology

National Reference Laboratory, through LabCorp’s Dianon Pathology and Integrated Oncology laboratory, provides leading hematopathology and anatomic pathology tests and services for comprehensive analysis and results to aid in diagnosis, prognosis, therapy selection, and monitoring.

At National Reference Laboratory we value the importance of the two-way interaction between the ordering physician and the laboratory medical- and scientific staff in an effort to provide the best patient care. Therefore, as an added value to our testing services, we provide our clients the ability to attain advice and support, including genetic counseling services, directly from the medical and scientific teams based both in the UAE and at LabCorp in the USA.

Anatomic Pathology Immunohistochemical Staining

National Reference Laboratory and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s joint Anatomic Pathology lab is one of the most sophisticated specialty laboratories and plans to offer one the largest immunohistochemical staining menu in the region. Our service ranges from performing the staining to rendering a diagnosis and providing a clinical consultation.

Anatomic Pathology Second Opinion

NRL provides a full range of diagnostic services for wet tissue specimens and glass slides sent in consultation. As partner with fellow pathologists at CCAD, we are available to assist in the interpretation of difficult and complex cases. It is our commitment to provide physicians with expert diagnostic pathology services that can guide and inform the care and treatment plans of patients.
